Stone Sleeper

In ‘Stone Sleeper’, Dizdar channels Bosnia’s medieval inhabitants through the enigmatic stećci — tombstones blending Christian and Islamic imagery — to spark a mystical dialogue between life and death. The poem ‚Čaplja‘ extends this theme, depicting a descending heron as a bridge between heaven and earth.
